"Tierra en las Uñas" (Earth under the Nails) offers an intimate look into the Colombian countryside, exploring the geographic diversity of the Cesar department, as well as its problems and struggles. This exhibition reflects the resilience of Colombian farmers and "el comité por la vida digna" (the Committee for Dignified Life), whose fundamental fight is for a dignified life and the permanece in the territories.

Landless peasants come together not only to forge a path towards land access and self-determination but also to promote sustainable livelihoods that respect and protect the environment.
Through a blend of visual art, personal testimonies, and photographic and video installations, we invite visitors to embark on a journey of understanding, empathy, and reflection.

Inequality in numbers
Statistically 1% of the Colombian population owns 80% of the land. "Tierra en las Uñas" bears witness to the struggle of rural communities that organize, resist, and envision a future where land is a source of sustenance, identity, and hope.
The exhibition reveals the consequences of land accumulation and excessive desire, both for communities and the environment, while highlighting the possibility of a slower, more egalitarian, and more sustainable life.

This work embodies the creativity and resilience of communities that challenge their material conditions of existence and set an example of a future where land is synonymous with a dignified life for all.
The land is not just what we walk on. It is what we are, what we eat, what we leave our children. Without land there is no dignified life.
